At Brand’s Best Friend, we are passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. Our mission extends beyond helping pet brands manage and optimize their e-commerce presence on platforms like Amazon, Chewy, and Walmart. We believe in making a positive impact on the animal community. This summer, our president, Dave Wosik, and his family exemplified this commitment during their memorable vacation to the Florida Keys.
The Wosik family ventured to Florida for a well-deserved, relaxing summer getaway. In between beach trips, the family stumbled upon The Turtle Hospital. This incredible organization dedicates itself to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of endangered sea turtles.
Moved by the hospital’s mission and the stories of the turtles being cared for, Dave and his family decided to sponsor five sea turtles on behalf of Brand’s Best Friend, and other family friends. The sponsorship provides essential food, medication, and supplies needed to care for the turtles for an entire year. Each turtle they adopted has a unique story, showcasing their resilience and the efforts required for their recovery.
Meet the Turtles
Hanson Buoy was rescued with “Bubble Butt Syndrome” from a boat strike. Hanson has shown remarkable recovery. Known for his loveable nature, Hanson is one of the largest turtles in the organization.
Montel has had a long road of struggles. With a left front flipper amputation due to entablement, a missing part of his front flipper from a predator attach, multiple fibropapilloma tumors, and a missing left eye due to infection, Montel is curious and resilient in nature.
April also underwent an eye amputation due to fibropapilloma tumors. Rescued in Woman Key, April is both graceful and easy-going.
Bender was diagnosed with “Bubble Butt Syndrome” after a boat strike, as well as a front left flipper amputation after being rescued in Islamorada. Bender is known for his elusive and shy personality.
Madea also suffers from “Bubble Butt Syndrome” from a boat, but also impaired with paralyzed rear flippers and spinal damage. Not much gets to Madea and she remains mellow and serene.
By sponsoring these sea turtles, we support The Turtle Hospital’s broader mission of educating the public about the importance of marine conservation. Their involvement highlights Brand’s Best Friend’s dedication to supporting organizations that better the lives of animals. We remain committed to partnering with and supporting initiatives that enhance the lives of animals, whether through our professional services or personal endeavors.
